Research Interests:

Myocardial infarction poses a serious threat to human life and health. While various clinical treatments can alleviate its symptoms, they are unable to repair dead cardiomyocytes. In contrast, lower vertebrates such as zebrafish and some newborn mammals can regenerate their hearts after injury. Studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiac regeneration can provide a theoretical basis for repairing cardiac damage in adult organisms. Our laboratory uses zebrafish, mammals and organoids as models to study the molecular mechanisms by which epigenetics, transcription factors and microenvironments regulate cardiac regeneration.
