Professor Xiong Jing-Wei, from the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Nanchang University, has been invited to serve on the Advisory Board of the International Society for Regenerative Biology (ISRB). His four-year term will begin in the fall of 2025. This prestigious appointment reflects the international scientific community’s strong recognition of Professor Xiong’s sustained contributions and academic influence in the field of regenerative biology.

The ISRB is a leading global organization dedicated to advancing regenerative research worldwide. It promotes cutting-edge scientific discovery, facilitates international collaboration, and supports the development of early-career scientists. Through international symposia, trainee-focused meetings, career mentorship programs, and academic awards, the Society provides a vital global platform for communication and cooperation among researchers in regenerative biology.

The ISRB Advisory Board is composed of internationally renowned leaders in the field who provide strategic guidance on scientific priorities, disciplinary development, and international partnerships. Among its distinguished members is Professor Deng Hong-Kui of Peking University, recipient of the 2024 Future Science Prize in Life Sciences, highlighting both the exceptional caliber of the Advisory Board and the growing prominence of Chinese scientists on the global stage.

Professor Xiong Jing-Wei has long been committed to investigating the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular regeneration and repair, and has made influential contributions to stem cell biology and tissue engineering. His research has been published in top-tier journals, including  Cell Stem Cell  and  Developmental Cell . This appointment not only affirms Professor Xiong’s outstanding scholarly achievements, but also significantly enhances Nanchang University’s international visibility and academic standing in the field of regenerative medicine.
